Club Projects
Each year the Fairfield Glade Rotary Club generates about $20,000 by means of two major fund-raising projects:  an Annual Benefit
Auction and a Golf Tournament.  These funds are distributed among various area charitable and human service organizations and
scholarships to Cumberland County students.
The Fairfield Glade Rotary Club is proud to accept the Globe Club Award.  The award recognizes  Clubs who are
actively involved in international service.
* Participate in a World Community Service or other international project. A WCS project is direct club to club assistance between a
district club and an international club. Other international service activities might include a Rotary Foundation Humanitarian grant,
participating in one of the Nigeria water or literacy projects or supporting Safe Blood Africa.
* Participate in an International Service Activity (host the incoming Group Study Exchange (GSE) team, host or sponsor a Youth
Exchange student, nominate an Ambassadorial Scholar or GSE team member, provide GSE team leader)
* Have a club program dedicated to international understanding.
We supported those goals through our work with the Ghana water well project, the Youth Exchange Student program and the
orphanage project in Guadalajara, Mexico.
GUADALAJARA ORPHANAGE PROJECT

This Matching Grant Project No. 70567 will provide education/classroom
equipment, laundry equipment and water purification needs to support
current and future growth plans for the Casa Hogar Emmanuel
Orphanage in the Guadalajara metropolitan area.  In this area there are
thousands of homeless street children (niños de la calle) that are at risk
of exploitation, hunger, disease, sexual abuse, crime and much more.
Recent purchase of adjoining real property and a Boys’ Home will permit
the capacity expansion from 50 children to 100 under care at the
orphanage.

The host partner club ( San Pedro de Tlaquepaque Rotary Club) and
the international partner club (Fairfield Glade Rotary Club) met jointly in
June, 2009 with Fundacion Emmanuel Guadalajara, AC to identify the
orphanage needs relative to children’s education and physical care.

The matching grant application was submitted and approved for equipment items that totaled $40,250 USD.  Project financing
Pedro de Tlaquepaque Rotary Club then continue assistance to Fundación Emmanuel in the purchase and installation of project
completion review and participate in the celebration of this project in support of the Casa Hogar Emmanuel Orphanage.
