Rotary is an organization of business and professional people united worldwide who provide
humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and
peace in the world.  The members of the Fairfield Glade Rotary Club are part of over 1.2 million
members in more than 33,000 Rotary Clubs throughout the world.

To encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise, and in particular, to
encourage and foster:  

  • the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service
  • high ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all
    useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to
    serve society;
  • the application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community
    life; and
  • the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world
    fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Becoming a Member

  1. Aim for 100% attendance, which includes make-ups
  2. Participate in all fund raisers, or make a financial contribution if participations is not possible
  3. Participate in our Mentoring Program for at least 6 months.
  4. Bring a speaker as our club's guest for one of our regular meetings, and if possible, be a
    speaker yourself.
  5. Be assigned as a greeter for our regular meetings until you have met every Rotarian on our
    roster.
  6. Every Rotarian is required by the nature of membership, to serve on at least one
    committee.  In order to place you on a committee of your choice, utilizing your talents and
    gifts, please consult with your sponsor, your mentor or the membership chairman in making
    that selection.
  7. Contribute to the Rotary Foundation on an annual basis so that one day you may become
    an endowed Paul Harris Fellow.
  8. Lastly, every new member is strongly urged to bring into our Rotary Club one new member
    during their first year of membership, thus keeping our club vibrant with fresh new ideas!
